三元里人民抗英斗争是中国近代史上为数不多的同仇敌忾并取得抵抗侵略的胜利之举。广州郊外三元里村周边一百多乡的农民，不忿英国侵略军的入侵，于一九四一年群起抵抗，巧施战术，以落后的武器，战胜全副武装的英军，歼敌二百余，大获全胜，大长国人士气。如今在三元里村辟建纪念公园，园子不大，设施不多，园内主要建筑物是一座高耸的纪念碑，以供人凭吊。白天免费开放，睌上闭园。

李公祠始建于唐朝末年，历代经修葺，1981年重修。原为广佑庙，又叫郡主庙、后称李公祠。李公，字明远，唐代山东人，唐乾宁年间894年，官至御史，为直谏被贬浔州刺史，因爱慕西山景色，遂隐居西山。后人为怀念他在浔州的德政而建祠纪念，立塑像，奉香火。
